Tuition fees / Participation costs

  • For Partner country students: €18,000 for 2 years
  • For Programme country students : €9,000 for 2 years

Am I a Programme country student or a partner country student?

  • "Programme countries" include students whose nationality is one of the 28 Member States of the European Union, and additionally, Iceland, Norway, Republic of North Macedonia, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Serbia.
  • "Partner countries" include all other countries
Students whose nationality is one of the Erasmus+ Partner Countries and who are neither resident nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in a Programme Country are considered as Partner Country students. The five year reference period for this 12 month rule is calculated backwards from the submission deadline.

Erasmus+ EMJMD scholarship

Who is eligible?

  • Students from all over the world (except Japan*) are eligible for an Erasmus+ EMJMD scholarship.
  • Students with a double nationality (of a Partner and of a Programme Country) must specify the nationality under which they submit their scholarship application.
  • * This only applies within JEMARO framework. Japanese students are not eligible to receive European funding for JEMARO as their local Ministry of Education may already provide financial support through a JASSO scholarship (see below).

What is included in the Erasmus+ EMJMD scholarship?

Distance is calculated by the consortium using the EACEA calculator.

    Principles and regulations

    • The student candidate/scholarship holder declares not to have already benefited from a previous EMJMD scholarship or an Erasmus Mundus Master Course/Joint Doctorate scholarship.
    • The student candidate/scholarship holder commits not to benefit from another EU funded scholarship scheme to follow the same EMJMD course for the entire period of the course.
    • The financial support shall be repaid by the scholarship holder in case of fraud or false declaration.

Consortium scholarship

A scholarship shall be awarded by the consortium to students who did not obtain the Erasmus+ EMJMD scholarship, but whose quality of application stood out. This scholarship will consist in a reduction from the total tuition fees.

JASSO scholarship

Japanese students seeking financial support can apply for the JASSO living allowance offered by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT).
