The University of Genoa hosts the 2023 JEMARO Days

The University of Genoa welcomed more than 50 participants from 10-14 July 2023, for the first face-to-face JEMARO Days.

from July 10, 2023 to July 14, 2023

Face-to-face JEMARO Days, at last! After welcoming the first intake of students during the covid pandemic in 2020, it was time for the JEMARO Consortium to organize the JEMARO Days, following the tradition launched during EMARO times.

This year, the University of Genoa organized the event over 5 days, welcoming JEMARO students and staff, but also alumni, invited professors and industrial guest speakers.

The intake 3 students, who have just completed their first year of Master's studies in Europe, teamed up for a challenging programming competition with ROSbots, the perfect occasion for some of them to meet for the first time! Indeed, during their first year on the programme, JEMARO students are dispatched across the 3 European partner institutions (Centrale Nantes in France, University of Genoa in Italy and Warsaw University of Technology in Poland) and only get to form a single group when they all go to Keio University for their second year on the programme.

The assembly could also count on the participation of Prof. Van Anh Ho from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) with a conference on soft robotics, as well as the keynotes from Enrico Fontanesi of Fincantieri and Alession Turetta of Graal Tech, two companies involved in research and development in the field of marine robotics.

It has been 4 years already that the EACEA selected JEMARO as an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree, therefore it was also time for JEMARO Consortium to discuss the future of the project after EU funding.

Save the date! The 2024 JEMARO Days will take place at Warsaw University of Technology in Poland from 8-12 July 2024.
