Andreu, JEMARO Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree, Class of 2022
Before JEMARO, what and where did you study?I’m Andreu, from Spain.
What options were you considering after your Bachelor’s? Why did you choose JEMARO?I studied Aerospace Engineering in Universitat Politècnica de València, with some mobility periods in the Netherlands and in the USA.
What is the course you’ve enjoyed the most so far, and why?I started working after my Bachelor's. After six months I realized that I would like to continue studying in a more software related field.
What is your research topic? The course I liked the most was Real Time Systems in Warsaw University of Technology (WUT). A very engaging professor is all it takes to teach you more than what the course offers a priori.
Why did you choose ECN/UNIGE/WUT?I work on Acoustic Odometry. Estimating motion of a robot by analyising the sound produced by its interaction with the terrain.
As a Spaniard, Poland was a country very different from what I'm used too. I wanted to experience those differences.
What do you find the most challenging in JEMARO?Not in Poland, but I had plenty of cultural shocks in Japan. Starting by the culture of saying "welcome" every time somebody enters a shop.
What do you want to do after JEMARO?The procedure to enter Japan was mentally challenging. Unknown border opening dates, online classes. Hopefully the situation won't repeat in the following years.
A final word?I would like to find a job but I'm also considering a PhD
Don't hesitate, apply for JEMARO!
