Vinicius, JEMARO Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree, Class of 2024
Before JEMARO, what and where did you study?I’m Vinícius, from Paulo Afonso, Brazil
What options were you considering after your Bachelor’s? Why did you choose JEMARO?I studied Aerospace Engineering in Politechnika Warszawska, Poland
What is the course you’ve enjoyed the most so far, and why?I was going to continue Master’s studies in the aerospace field, while trying to get a job around the city, but then, a couple of weeks before graduating, I saw an advertisement for JEMARO when I was walking around the university. I still had a passion for travelling around and for robotics/AI, as well as visiting Japan, so I searched more about it and it was the perfect choice for me!
What is your research topic? So far, Space Exploration Engineering at Keio. I always liked the topic in general, and having some more contact with a professor who worked at JAXA and have hands-on experience is really cool
Why did you choose UNIGE?Space stuff again, I am developing a soft robotic arm that is attached to the spacesuit, aiding the astronauts/cosmonauts in the ISS maintenance
Any cultural shocks since arriving in your home institution? As I have visited France before, and lived in Poland for the last few years, it was a nice opportunity to spend some time in a different country yet again, so I chose UniGe to have the full italian experience
What do you find the most challenging in JEMARO?So far, nothing came as a shock, as I pretty much embrace everything and love to learn about other cultures in every aspect
What do you want to do after JEMARO?All the bureaucracy for visa, immigration, bank, settling in and the first couple of weeks on a new place
A final word?I want to apply all the knowledge I gathered during JEMARO time in a nice work environment
If you’re up for a nice adventure, definitely apply for JEMARO, it gives you tons of great experiences and great friends along the way!
