Wathek, JEMARO Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree, Class of 2022
Before JEMARO, what and where did you study?I’m Wathek, from Tunisia.
What options were you considering after your Bachelor’s? Why did you choose JEMARO?I studied Mechatronics Engineering in Istanbul, Turkey.
What is the course you’ve enjoyed the most so far, and why?I wanted to do a master's degree, JEMARO was the perfect opportunity, robotics in Europe + Japan.
What is your research topic? The course I liked the most was Natural Language Processing, it made me realize the connection between our spoken language and the meanings behind it, using engineering tools to expose the underlying complex connections in words.
Why did you choose ECN/UNIGE/WUT?I work on Persistent attacker avoidance in a multi-robotic system using reinforcement learning
I choose WUT. Warsaw is a very beautiful city and WUT is one of the most prestigious universities to study engineering.
What do you find the most challenging in JEMARO?Due to the covid pandemic we could not really get in touch with other students or attend classes physically. In Japan the situation was a bit different as I mainly focused on my research, but I’d say Japan is an experience to live, not a shock but a nice adventure!
What do you want to do after JEMARO?I would say the non-academic stuff, visa procedures, settling in and getting adapted to the new environment.
A final word?I would probably start working.
JEMARO was a dream come true, despite all the challenges we as first batch faced it was a very nice experience and enriched me on so many levels.
