The 9 intake 2 JEMARO students currently staying in Nantes got to visit on 9 May the French headquarters of Yaskawa, just a couple of kilometers from Nantes. Over 100 employees are based in this subsidiary, the only one in France, where a showroom and the assembly platform are accessible to visitors and customers.

After a 20-minute presentation of Yaskawa group, the students visited the industrial site and got a hands-on perspective of the work of a robot manufacturer.

As opposed to what the students see in class in terms of research and development, the tour and testimonies offered by the teams on site gave an insight into practical and management-based aspects of a global robotics company.

JEMARO is the first joint Japan-Europe programme offering high-level academic and industrial training across the whole span of robotics (Mathematical modelling, Control engineering, Computer engineering, Mechanical design) with the technological specialisation of the associated industrial partners. All JEMARO course units are taught in English, and they are already mutually recognized by all the consortium partners within Local Master Tracks. All activities are organized and implemented on a common agreement basis and by integrating the educational rules differences/constraints between Japan and Europe.

Students graduating from the JEMARO Master's course are awarded two Master's degrees from the institutions where they studied. The degrees obtained are officially recognised and give full access to PhD study programmes.
